DelSheree Gladden – Invincible (Aerling #3) | Review

Mason is not imaginary.
He’s not a ghost, either.
And he’s definitely not a hallucination.
Mason is the one Aerling capable of saving an entire world.
He thought he was going home, but surviving Sentinel attacks and making it back to the Aerling world is only the beginning of Mason’s fight to protect the ones he loves. Every Aerling believes he can save them, but in order to win a battle that has been raging for millenium, Mason must face down the one man he truly fears, the only man capable of withstanding his power. This is one fight Mason may not be able to win.

When I first read the summary of Invisible, I immediately knew I was going to love it and I was right. However, I did not know that it would become one of my favourite series of all time. Invincible was an amazing conclusion to the trilogy and I just couldn’t stop reading. I read this book on Wattpad before it was originaly published because I was dying to find out how everything unravels at the end. Aerling series may sound to you like another paranormal YA romance, but it’s so much more than that. So, so much more.

The plot was intense from the first page until the very last one and it kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time.  This was probably the most action-packed book in the series, but somehow it turned out to be my least favourite. Don’t get me wrong, I still love this book, it’s just that, in my opinion, the first two books were slightly better. There was a lot of mystery and a lot of secrets in this one, and I tried to figure those out, but I couldn’t, not until the author wanted me to figure it out, which I think is great. Of course, all the secrets were revealed at the end, and all the mystery (from the previous books as well) was solved. There was a lot of twists and new problems as well, but everything wrapped up nicely at the end and all the questions were answered. Unfortunately. Because that means that there is not going to be any more books. I’m not ready to let all of these characters go.

I still love majority of characters in this book, but Mason is my ultimate favourite. I love him so much, he’s just the best. I also really liked Ollie in this one because she went through so much character development and with every book I like her more and more. I actually started to like Hayden more and more as well, but I still don’t like his and Olivia’s relationship. It just doesn’t seem believeable to me, but I went over that because everything else in this book was just fantastic. We met a new character in Invincible as well. Sloan was a mystery to me at first and I wasn’t sure if I should trust her or not, so at the beginning I didn’t really like her, but later I found myself really liking that girl. I liked her beckstory a lot and I could quickly connect to her. But, I had a problem with hers and Hayden’s relationship. I expected it to happen from the moment we found out her story, but I didn’t want it to happen because it was so obvious and pretty rushed, but again, I got over that because their relationship was still cute at moments. I just realized that my only problem with this book is Hayden, or more specific, his relationships with other characters. Interesting.

DelSherre Gladden is one of my favourite authors out there and I really like her writing style. She can make me care about all the characters, I get so invested in the world and I just want to read more and more, and that is, in my opinion, what makes a good writer. But except for that, there is one more reason why I love her writing so much. When she describes Mason’s and Ollie’s power or basicly any power, it’s so easy to picture in my head, and also so beautiful and captivating. Those descriptions of power and how Aerlings and Escorts use it is one of the best aspects of the Aerling series. Yeah, I also really like when Mason and Ollie talk about their feelings for each other. I find that to be so cute and those scenes always melt my heart.

All in all, I believe my love for this series is pretty obvious. Invincible was an amazing wrap up to the trilogy, but I wish there was more. If you haven’t read these books yet, what are you waiting for? Aerling series should get much more attention, because it definitely deserves it.
